Gosatomnadzor held working meetings on the formation of a new program of the Union State
On February 26-27, 2024, Gosatomnadzor held working meetings to discuss the draft Program of Joint Activities of Belarus and Russia within the framework of the Union State “Ensuring Safety in Radioactive Waste Management”.
Representatives of the Department of Nuclear Power of the Ministry of Energy, RUE “Belarusian Organization for Radioactive Waste Management” and JSC “TVEL” (Russian Federation) took part in the events.
The proposed state customer-coordinator and state customers of the activities of the future Joint Activity Program, as well as individual activities planned for implementation were among the topics of discussion.
The draft Program of the Union State “Ensuring Safety in Radioactive Waste Management” is focused on the development of modern import-independent technologies and building competencies to strengthen safety of radioactive waste management in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
