Supervisory Activity
Legal Basis
The order of organization and implementation of state supervision over compliance with the requirements of legal acts in the field of radiation safety of ionizing radiation sources is established by the Provision on State Supervision in the Field of Nuclear and Radiation Safety, approved by the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of December 31, 2008 No. 2056.
The criteria for assigning subjects of supervision to a risk group for the purpose of scheduled inspections are established by order of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus of 29.05.2018 No. 185.
The main types of violations detected during inspections are:

violation of the requirements for accounting and control of ionizing radiation sources;

violations of the requirements for the training and certification of managers and contractors, specialists of the radiation safety control services;
-
violation of the requirements of technical regulations on the organization and conduct of maintenance and testing of operational parameters of ionizing radiation sources;
-
operation of ionizing radiation sources at the expiration of the assigned service lifetime;
-
violations of requirements for the presence and control of operational parameters of radiation protection facilities;
-
violations of the requirements for equipping the premises for work with ionizing radiation sources, for the placement and operation of ionizing radiation sources;
-
violations of the requirements for the organization and conduct of radiation monitoring;
-
violation of requirements for the development and revision of local regulatory legal acts;
-
violations of the procedure for admitting personnel to work with ionizing radiation sources;
-
gaps in the organization and control of radiation safety on the part of the administration.
In order to avoid violations of legal acts requirements in the field of radiation safety, users of ionizing radiation sources are strongly recommended to study the information in the section “Radiation safety of ionizing radiation sources / Prevention of violations”, as well as materials on the results of inspections.
