Delegation of Gosatomnadzor is taking part in the IAEA International Conference
Delegation of Gosatomnadzor headed by Ms. Olga Lugovskaya, Head of the Department, is taking part in the International Conference on Nuclear Security: Shaping the Future, which is held from 20 to 24 May in Vienna.
On May 20, the head of the Belarusian delegation made a national statement in which she emphasized that Belarus had hosted all the key IAEA expert missions recommended by the Agency to a newcomer country in the field of nuclear energy.
She mentioned that the conclusions made by the IAEA experts according to the results of the IPPAS mission in Belarus demonstrate that the country attaches great importance to safety and reliability of the nuclear power plant. The country has established a nuclear security regime with essential elements of the IAEA guidelines.
Moreover, Ms. Lugovskaya concluded that the IPPAS mission emphasized the advanced practices of Belarus in terms of 11 good practices, which could serve as an example for other IAEA member states in strengthening the nuclear security regime.
