Representative of Gosatomnadzor took part in a scientific visit to St. Petersburg

From July 15 to 18, Mr. Anatoly Balyabin, Head of the Radiation Protection Section of the Radiation Safety Regulation Division, took part in a scientific visit to St. Petersburg as a member of the delegation of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus.

The visit was arranged by the Emergency Response Center of Rosatom (hereinafter – Rosatom ERC JSC) within the framework of the IAEA technical cooperation project “Enhancing the Competence of Emergency Services in Discharging Responsibilities in Radiological Emergency Preparedness and Response Activities and Early Notification”.

During the visit, the Belarusian delegation got acquainted with the Russian practices and advanced technologies related to nuclear and radiation safety. Representatives of Rosenergoatom Concern JSC, Nuclear Safety Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IBRAE) and Rosatom ERC made reports on the subject of the scientific visit in the field of emergency preparedness and response.

Demonstration of forces and means of emergency rescue teams of Rosatom ERC JSC on organization and implementation of activities aimed at elimination of a potential radiation accident was presented to the participants.

At the end of the event a round table discussion on further directions and future prospects for the development of relations between the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus and Rosatom State Atomiс Energy Corporation, including Rosatom ERC JSC in the field of emergency preparedness and response was held.From July 15 to 18, Mr. Anatoly Balyabin, Head of the Radiation Protection Section of the Radiation Safety Regulation Division, took part in a scientific visit to St. Petersburg as a member of the delegation of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus.
