Gosatomnadzor summarized the results of its work performed within the first half of the year

On July 2, Gosatomnadzor held a meeting of the Board of the Department to summarize the results of activities carried out in the first half of 2024.

Meeting was attended by Mr. Anatoly Dolgolevets, Deputy Minister for Emergency Situations

Ms. Olga Lugovskaya, Head of Gosatomnadzor, presented information on the work conducted during the reporting period. In her speech, she emphasized that, in general, the state of nuclear and radiation safety at supervised facilities is at an appropriate level. No radiation accidents have been registered in the Republic, and the radiation incidents that have taken place have not led to radiation exposure of the population or failures in the operation of enterprises.

Among other presentations delivered at the meeting were the reports prepared by Ms. Natalia Gurnovich, Head of the Science and Information Division, on the Organization of Scientific and Technical Support for Regulatory Activities; by Mr. Dmitry Pavlov, Head of the Division of Radioactive Waste and Nuclear Legacy Facilities Management, on the Prospects of Formation of the Programs of the Union State of Belarus and Russia; and Mr. Maxim Mazurenko, Head of the Division of Organization and Implementation of Control and Supervisory Activities at Nuclear Power Facilities, on the Preparation of the Draft of a New State Regulation “On Atomic Energy Use”.

Participants of the meeting exchanged their opinions on the raised problematic issues while discussing the presented information.

Moreover, additionally to the main agenda, Ms. Tatyana Bosenko, Head of the Division of Personnel, Organizational and Analytical Work and Quality Management, summarized the results of the participation in the Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Regulatory Cooperation Forum (RCF) in Vienna, in the course of which the experience of the Belarusian regulatory activity in the field of nuclear and radiation safety was presented.

Coming to the conclusion Ms. Olga Lugovskaya outlined the main tasks of Gosatomnadzor for the second half of the current year.
