Gosatomnadzor took part in a meeting organized by the Ministry of Energy
On February 19, 2024, Ministry of Energy held a meeting on the draft Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus “On Radioactive Waste Storage (Disposal) Facility”.
The document is being developed with the aim of further elaboration of the regulatory and legal framework in the field of nuclear and radiation safety, in particular, in the field of radioactive waste management.
The draft Decree specifies the procedure and characteristics of preparatory measures required for the siting, design, construction and commissioning of a radioactive waste disposal facility in the Republic of Belarus.
The document will enable to improve safety assurance throughout all stages of radioactive waste management in the Republic of Belarus by establishing a system of long-term storage and (or) disposal of radioactive waste.
