Participation in the workshop on a comprehensive law on atomic energy use

On April 12, 2024, employees of Gosatomnadzor headed by Ms. Olga Lugovskaya, Head of the Department, took part in the workshop on a comprehensive law on atomic energy use and the requirements of conventions in the field of atomic energy use, arranged by the Commission of the CIS Member States on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy. The event was held via videoconference.

The workshop was attended by representatives of regulatory and operating organizations, scientific institutions as well as nuclear power enterprises of the CIS member states.

The main objective of the meeting was to develop competencies and exchange experience in the field of formation and development of legislative and regulatory framework in the field of atomic energy use in accordance with the requirements of international conventions.

During the meeting participants got acquainted with the IAEA recommendations and the requirements of conventions in the field of atomic energy use, shared experience in regulatory infrastructure development of nuclear and radiation safety as well as in licensing and supervisory activities. The workshop attendees were familiarized with the relevant practices, approaches and experience of the Russian Federation and other countries, as well as recommendations on the development of the legislative framework for the implementation of large and small capacity NPP projects.
